October is Free Wills Month

The team at Chadwick Lawrence are delighted to announce we are taking part in “ Free Wills” October.

Free Wills Month brings together a group of charities to offer members of the public aged 55 and over the opportunity to have their simple Wills written or updated free of charge by using participating solicitors in the region.

The firm has been overwhelmed by the venture so far,  to the extent that the quota of free wills available has already been exhausted in the firm’s Halifax and Huddersfield offices.

However, the firm have retained a few remaining free Wills for residents in the Hebden Bridge area, where it is providing the funding for the Watermark campaign shop for the flood victims of the Calder Valley.

The requirements for the free will are that you must be 55 or over, require a simple Will and are happy to leave a small legacy to one of the named charities in the campaign (although there is no obligation to do so). Those interested should contact the firm’s Halifax Office on 01422 330601 and ask for Angela Thorp or Suzanne Powell. Appointments are available for Tuesday the 18th October or Tuesday the 25th October.  All you need to do is bring along some photographic id and a recent utility bill for us to be able to action your instructions.
