Managing Partner, Neil Wilson, plays an active part in the career progression and well-being of every member of the Chadwick Lawrence team.
Neil is a face you’ll quickly come to recognise, working from any one of our eight Yorkshire sites; he insists on not having a permanent office. In fact, Neil was once referred to as our “Legal Nomad” but it definitely wasn’t by one of us!
With over 25 years in the legal profession (and a few outside of it too) Neil’s vision for the firm is one of constant, progressive and considered evolution where each decision is made with people at the very heart of it.

Our current management structure sees three of our board members being former trainee solicitors at the firm and in addition to this, several of our Equity Partners also started their careers at Chadwick Lawrence.

I started at Chadwick Lawrence fresh out of college in 2005, not really knowing what the future would hold. I soon developed a passion for law and expressed an interest in pursuing a legal career. I was allowed to take part in a part time degree course and subsequently commenced a training contract. Throughout this time I gained invaluable experience and knowledge whilst working alongside senior solicitors and taking an active part on a whole range of legal disputes and issues. After completing my Legal Practice Course, I qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and went on to become partner in 2019. In 14 years I’d gone from leaving college not fully knowing what I wanted to do with my life, to being a partner in a law firm. This speaks volumes of Chadwick Lawrence and what they are all about. If you make the effort and put in the hard work you are rewarded, as simple as that. You are allowed to express yourself without any fixed regime and if you want to succeed, you will.

“I joined Chadwick Lawrence in early 2017 and since my first day I have loved it. There are a multitude of reasons why but the main thing for me is the way I am not viewed as a number. I am an employee who is cared about, like being in a family and has regular contact with the owners of the firm. During my time with the firm, I feel I have continually been allowed to develop and have had major input in numerous areas of the business. There is regular feedback from the Management team on my performance and whether constructive or praising it is all delivered in a positive way. I started and have continued to work over and above expectations and put the extra effort in where it is required, and this has been acknowledged by the wider business on numerous occasions. What are we looking for?

Working in all aspects of residential conveyancing work, including sale, purchase, freehold and leasehold work, applicants must be confident in dealing with their own high-volume caseload and working cohesively within a team, as well as being able to work with minimum supervision. A working knowledge of SOS or other case management system to prepare and process letters and forms correctly is desirable.
The successful applicant will be required to generate revenue through business development and be able to demonstrate strong client management skills. This opportunity would be ideal for someone with over 3 years’ technical experience within residential conveyancing and who is proactive in approaching the local market and developing new business for the Firm.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and ambitious person who wants to develop their skills further through working on a wide range of quality instructions.
Applicants should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
- Around 5 years’ + PQE with commercial property experience
- Strong IT skills
- A high degree of initiative and the ability to manage your time and your workload effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to use these to promote the team and the firm both internally and externally
- A willingness to learn, to drive your own career progression and to be proactive in achieving this

About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled property litigator to take the next step in their career. The role will be based in our Leeds office.
Ideally suitable for someone with approximately 2-5 years PQE. The role will involve the opportunity to deal with both commercial and personal property disputes.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and ambitious solicitor being capable of working with a degree of autonomy and possess the drive to succeed. We are looking for someone who is excited to contribute to the further success of our team, somebody who wants to be recognised for the value that they add and somebody who wants to enjoy the work that they do
Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:
- strong IT skills

What are we looking for?
An opportunity has arisen for a Telephonist to work as part of the reception team at our Huddersfield office. This is an office-based role.
Candidates must show a pro-active, professional, and friendly attitude and demonstrate the highest standards of customer care. Excellent communication skills together with the ability to process calls quickly and efficiently are essential. The telephone system used by the firm is 3CX for which training will be given.
Previous experience of working in a legal environment is desirable, but not essential. Applicants must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook.
