Speeding Myth-busting
Points – what to expect
If you are caught speeding, then you are likely to face a fine. And also you will receive some penalty points on your license. The amount of the fine and the level of penalty points you receive depends upon the speed you were traveling and the zone in which you were traveling at the time that you committed the offense.
Am I eligible for a driving course?
You may be eligible for a driving course depending on the speed that you were doing at the time and whether you’ve had a course before the police take the speed zone that you were in and take 10% of that figure and add nine miles per hour on so if you will caught speeding at 30 so the most speed you could be doing would be 42 to be eligible for a speed awareness course.
What ban might I face?
The length of time you face depends upon the speed that you were traveling at and in which zone you were caught speeding. For example, you can be banned from driving if you are traveling at 20 miles per hour over the speed limits in a 30 miles per hour zone.
Do I need a solicitor?
Motoring law cases are very complex and it’s a technical area of law. In addition, you may have to attend court and may not feel comfortable speaking in front of people. Given that I would always recommend that a solicitor is engaged at a very early stage.
