Chadwick Lawrence to Host Seminar on Maternity Discrimination on 24 May 2023
Discrimination on the basis of pregnancy and maternity is prohibited under the Equality Act 2010. However, despite the legal protection, discrimination in the workplace can still occur. To help employers navigate this issue, Chadwick Lawrence is hosting a seminar on 24 May 2023 to discuss maternity discrimination in the workplace.
The seminar will be delivered by Chadwick Lawrence’s Employment Team, with Sam Pawson presenting in conjunction with Hays Recruitment. The event will take place at our Wakefield Office, Paragon Business Village, Wakefield, from 8.30 am to 10.00 am.
The seminar will focus on the various aspects of maternity discrimination, which is one of the nine protected characteristics under Section 4 of the Equality Act 2010. The event will provide employers with valuable insights into how to identify discriminatory situations and manage them successfully. The seminar will also discuss the requirements in respect of KIT (keep in touch) days and risk assessments for employees on and returning from maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity for employers to learn about the legal requirements regarding maternity discrimination, and gain practical advice on how to manage this issue successfully. The event is open to all, and to register your interest, please email employmenthub@chadlaw.co.uk or visit our seminar page.
