Chadwick Lawrence supports the Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Aspire at their Tag Rugby Day
As part of our ongoing partnership with Aspire and Leeds Rhinos Foundation, we recently supported them in a Touch Rugby event, on Monday 5 June 2023.
The touch rugby event featured eight teams, each consisting of ten enthusiastic participants, totalling 80 individuals. The mixed-ability teams took part in the tag rugby tournament, including 14 from Chadwick Lawrence. Leeds Rhinos mascot, Ronnie the Rhino, also made an appearance to cheer the teams on, adding an extra element of excitement to the day.
Aspire Community Benefit Society supports people with learning disabilities, through the provision of high-quality care and support services. They are committed to enhancing the quality of life for their customers and supporting them and their care network. Aspire’s services include a Supported Living Service whereby they offer full-time supported living facilities, Respite Care, Crisis Service and more. Additionally, they offer day services, allowing individuals living at home to participate in events such as the touch rugby tournament.
The event was previously run in 2019 before having to come to an end due to COVID. All parties have been eagerly awaiting its return since. When asked about the event, Gareth Nicholson, a customer at Aspire comments “It was perfect. It was very joyful. We enjoyed every moment of it”.
Sam Pawson, Partner at Chadwick Lawrence and non-Executive Director at Aspire comments: “The event was better than anyone could have hoped for. Of course, it is always such a heart-warming sight to see the participants having fun, it also is incredibly rewarding for those who are supporting and running the event too. It’s one of Chadwick Lawrence’s favourite events we run alongside Aspire.”
The connection between Chadwick Lawrence and Aspire goes beyond a professional affiliation. Sam Pawson, Partner, and a valued member of the Chadwick Lawrence team has a personal connection with Aspire as a trustee and non-executive director. This shared commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with learning difficulties led Chadwick Lawrence to become a corporate sponsor for Aspire, supporting their endeavours through various events.
Carol Benson, Marketing and Communications Manager at Aspire comments “We would like to thank all those involved in organising and supporting the event including; Leeds Rhinos Foundation for providing the facilities, refreshments and referees at the amazing venue of Headingley stadium. And to Chadwick Lawrence for their sponsorship with Aspire and extra hands on the day. We love to be able to put on these events and make a difference in all of our customers’ lives.”.
