Chadwick Lawrence Cohost Equality and Diversity Seminar with Jamie Jones Buchanan.
As a long-standing partner of the Leeds Rhinos, we recently cohosted an Equality and Diversity Seminar alongside Jamie Jones Buchanan.
Jamie Jones Buchanan played for the Leeds Rhinos at the iconic AMT Headingley Stadium for twenty years as part of the Golden Generation. In his time at the club, he enjoyed a long line of successes featuring seven Super League Grand Final wins, three World Cup Challenges, three League Leaders’ Shields and one Challenge Cup Final. He now takes the mantle of Head of Culture, Diversity and Inclusivity at the club whereby he looks for opportunities to instil real change, inspiring the community of Leeds and those further afield.
Chadwick Lawrence has been the official legal partner of the Leeds Rhinos for 16 years, offering legal, regulatory, and HR advice to the club. In our most recent joint venture, the firm and the club worked in tandem to deliver a seminar at the AMT Headingley Stadium on 7 March 2024.
Presenters included Jamie Jones Buchanan (Leeds Rhinos Director and Representative), Neil Wilson (Managing Partner at Chadwick Lawrence) and Sam Pawson (Partner, Head of Employment at Chadwick Lawrence). Each presenter brought a unique perspective to the discussion.
Sam Pawson delved into the legal aspects of Equality and Diversity, offering valuable insights into the legal implications surrounding this subject. Sam’s presentation provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape, ensuring that businesses are equipped with the knowledge to navigate these complexities.
Jamie Jones Buchanan shared his wealth of experiences over the years. Jamie’s presentation not only highlighted the significance of fostering inclusivity but also shed light on his role in driving cultural change within the Leeds Rhinos community and beyond.
Neil Wilson approached Equality & Diversity from a practical business standpoint. His presentation focused on the pragmatic aspects of implementing diversity initiatives within organisations. Neil’s insights provided attendees with actionable strategies to promote equality within the workplace, emphasising the tangible benefits of a diverse and inclusive corporate culture.
Managing Partner at Chadwick Lawrence, Neil Wilson comments “This seminar was covering a topic that we feel strongly about. Sam, Jamie and I were honoured to be speaking on the subject and to provide another perspective on the issue of Equality and Diversity. Jamie was, and always is, an inspiration to listen to, and to speak alongside him and provide some knowledge and advice from our areas of expertise and knowledge, hopefully providing some value, was something we have wanted to do for a long time now.”
