Our work experience scheme will give you a real insight into who we are and how we operate, giving you the ability to grow your experience and obtain a practical insight into what it is really like to work as a lawyer and be part of our CL team.

We offer a mix of work experience placements ranging from legal experience through to our support divisions (IT, HR, Accounts, Reception and Facilities Management).

We offer 1-week work experience placements throughout the year which are open to those aged 16+.

Usually, our work experience placements are based across our offices, typically Leeds, Wakefield and Huddersfield but there may be opportunities for you to visit our other offices.  You’ll be based in, and work mainly in one office alongside our Partners, Associates, Fee Earners, Trainees and support teams.

You will work on live legal matters across our practice areas and will be given responsibility right from the start so you can experience what it is really like to be a lawyer and work at CL.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from anyone aged 16+ who is interested in pursuing a career in law or working at Chadwick Lawrence.

What can I expect during my work placement?

We want you to get involved and be part of our team so you can expect to receive real ‘hands-on’ experience.

Whilst all work placement experiences will be dependent on the week you are with us and which of our departments you are placed with, you might be involved in attending court hearings and client meetings, undertaking key legal research, engaging with clients, colleagues and our professional contacts, drafting documents and assisting with routine day-to-day tasks.

You can also expect to collaborate with our staff who are always willing to pass on their knowledge and practical tips relating to studying, qualifications and career progression giving you the opportunity to build your professional network and relationships.
