Celebrating our Team’s Successes
Our team at Chadwick Lawrence came together in June for our annual company-wide event at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield. It was a fantastic opportunity for over 100 employees from across our eight offices to meet in person, mingle, and catch up with colleagues they don’t often get to see in person.
The event also provided a chance to recognise the outstanding contributions of our colleagues through our annual awards.
Here are the winners and a glimpse into why they were chosen:
Managing Partner’s Partner of the Year Award: Dan Bell, Head of IT
Dan’s dedication and leadership in driving IT advancements have kept Chadwick Lawrence ahead of the curve. He consistently develops his team’s skills while embodying our firm’s values. Beyond work, Dan’s commitment to health and wellness is inspiring, tackling challenges like the Coast-to-Coast cycle and the Rob Burrow marathon for charity. A true asset to the firm and a great colleague.
Dan said of his award: “Overwhelmed and delighted to receive this award. This is a reflection and acknowledgment of the tech team’s hard work and perseverance in tirelessly delivering and striving to progress. Without their efforts, none of this would be possible. A huge thank you to everyone who has coached, guided, and supported me, especially over the last few years when it has been challenging both in and out of work.”
Innovation Award 2024: Zoe Allen, Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team
Zoe’s innovative redesign of our work experience programme has had a tremendous internal and external impact. Her passion and ingenuity have created a seamless application process and memorable placements for students, contributing to the recruitment of several young people who have begun their Chadwick Lawrence journeys. Zoe’s efforts exemplify our commitment to nurturing homegrown talent.
“I am honoured to receive this award, having started my journey with the firm as a work experience student over ten years ago. To now take on the responsibility of our student engagement and junior development initiatives from a former apprentice perspective is a real privilege. It recognises the firm’s continued commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and our dedication to inspiring the next generation of legal professionals.” That’s what Zoe Allen had to say about her award recognition.
Chadwick Lawrence Way Award 2024: Paul Marshall, Head of Finance
Paul truly embodies our values and ‘the Chadwick Lawrence Way’. His inclusive leadership and approachable nature create an enjoyable working environment for everyone. Paul has been open fostering discussions around mental health and well-being. His dedication to our wellness initiative, including leading training sessions, further demonstrates his commitment to a positive workplace culture.
Paul said: “This award truly humbles me. I’m honoured to have the support, training, and guidance that allow me to grow and embody ‘the Chadwick Lawrence Way’ continually.”
Engagement Award 2024: Joy Woodhead, Reception
Joy has wholeheartedly embraced our new internal social media channel, Viva Engage, sharing her wellness experiences and encouraging others. Her regular updates, from reading and walking to gym workouts and family holidays, inspire us all. Joy exemplifies how Viva Engage connects us, shares ideas, and motivates us to support one another.
“It was lovely to receive this recognition, it is most appreciated. I will continue engaging with all, clients and colleagues in my usual way.”
Charitable Work Award 2024: Sue Preece, Associate in the Court of Protection Team
Sue’s tireless efforts as our in-house Dementia Ambassador have been truly remarkable. Through coffee mornings, wellness walks, blogs, knitting sessions, gift drives, and bake-offs, she has raised significant funds for dementia research and awareness. Sue’s dedication extends beyond work hours, engaging the community and promoting care for those affected by this devastating disease. Her initiatives have also fostered a sense of unity and purpose within Chadwick Lawrence, exemplifying our shared values. This award recognises Sue’s outstanding contribution and her positive impact.
Sue said: “I was beyond surprised to receive this award; it was completely unexpected and a lovely testament to the values of the firm.”
This event was a resounding success, and we look forward to celebrating again next year.
