Raising Money and Heart Rates at the Great North Run in Support of the MS Society
As the Great North Run approaches, the team at Chadwick Lawrence is preparing to lace up their running shoes and hit the streets of Newcastle to raise money for the MS Society in the Great North Run 2024. This year, they are proud to run in support of the MS Society, with a special dedication to our Head of IT and fellow runner, Dan Bell.
A Firm commitment to wellbeing
We believe in the importance of physical and mental wellness, both in the workplace and outside of it. Whilst everyone has their own ways of keeping well, running is one of many powerful ways to boost focus, fitness, happiness and more. Participating in events like the Great North Run allows us to strengthen our bodies, clear our minds, and foster a sense of community and achievement—all of which align with our firm’s ongoing wellbeing initiatives.
Why the MS Society?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition that affects over 130,000 people in the UK. It’s a condition that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body, leading to a wide range of symptoms that can vary significantly from person to person. From physical issues like mobility and vision problems to cognitive challenges, MS is a condition that can deeply affect the lives of those diagnosed and their loved ones.
The MS Society is dedicated to making life better for people with MS by funding cutting-edge research, providing support, and campaigning for change. At Chadwick Lawrence, we’re proud to support their mission. Every stride we take in the Great North Run is a step closer to a world where MS no longer has the power to control lives.
The MS Society has a previously close place in our hearts as Head of IT, Dan Bell was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021. Dan is a seasoned runner and advocate for the work performed by the MS Society. Running has become an outlet for Dan both to improve his resilience but also overall physical wellbeing. Dan comments “Running the Great North Run for the MS Society is my way of giving back to a charity that has supported me and countless others in the fight against multiple sclerosis. Running has given me a new purpose and become a valuable asset in my personal battle with the disease. It’s more than just the miles—it’s allowed me to take control, stay strong, and has provided an opportunity to raise awareness for a cause that affects so many lives.”
With the rest of the firm running alongside one another, supporting from the sidelines or donating to this amazing cause, the team looks forward to the run!
How you can support
We’ve set up fundraising pages for each of our runners, and we encourage you to contribute to this worthy cause. Your support will not only boost our runners on race day but will also make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by MS. Every donation counts and will go directly towards the MS Society’s efforts to fund research, provide support, and drive advocacy for better care and treatment.
