We Are Signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant
We are extremely proud to be signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant. This recognition means a lot to us here at Chadwick Lawrence, as a firm that encourages diversity and inclusion.
The Armed Forces Covenant was founded on two principles. To serve the Armed Forces and their families to ensure they don’t face disadvantages in the provision of public or commercial services, and to ensure special consideration is given to those who have been injured and the bereaved.
Joining the Armed Forces Covenant means that we are a business that has a formal agreement in place with the Armed Forces in relation to our treatment and recruitment of currently serving members of the UK Armed Forces, family members of someone serving or formerly serving, bereaved family members of someone who died in the Armed Forces or service leavers and former members of the Armed Services.
People within these categories may face disadvantages compared to the general population due to service life, such as paying more for certain products, due to a mobile lifestyle. We therefore will try our best to mitigate some of these disadvantages, offering special provisions to those who have made the biggest sacrifices, such as the injured and the bereaved.
Oliver Newton, a solicitor in our Dispute Resolution team, requested that Chadwick Lawrence join the AFC, initiated the application, and has been carrying this forward ever since, together with our HR team.
In recognition of this, Oliver and Matt Perry attended an event at the Royal Armouries Museum on the 17th of July organised by the Armed Forces. We would like to thank the Armed Forces Covenant for the invitation to this event.
