Drug Driving
This offence involves driving, attempting to drive or being in charge of a vehicle with a specified controlled drug in your system in excess of the specified limit for that drug. The levels depend upon which drug has been taken.
It also applies if a person drives or attempts to drive a vehicle on a road or other public place whilst unfit through drugs.
There are a number of procedures that the police must follow to successfully bring a prosecution against you. It is therefore important that you seek advice as soon as possible to review whether the police have followed these procedures correctly, to determine whether you have a possible defence and the chances of success, and, otherwise, to try and limit your sentence as much as possible.
If found guilty you will receive a ban of at least 12 months and a fine. The length of ban and the level of fine will depend upon the quantities of drug found to be in your system. We can help you by mitigating your position in court for a shorter ban.
