Adele first joined Chadwick Lawrence in 1991 as a Litigation secretary based at their Dewsbury office and has since worked across various departments at almost every branch of the firm.
After taking a 7-year break to be a full-time mum, she returned to the Morley office in 2000 and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer. Today, Adele is based at the Wakefield office, where she provides secretarial and administrative support to the Employment and Regulatory teams.
Adele enjoys visiting her daughter in London, as well as gardening, knitting, and reading. She is also a big fan of the Royal family!

Amanda-Jayne graduated from Huddersfield University in 2007 with a BA in Law and started her first legal job that year with Easthams Solicitors in Blackpool. She started in conveyancing but after the 2008 housing market downfall, moved departments and joined the personal injury team. Since then, Amanda-Jayne has spent all her time doing personal injury claims of all varieties, litigation and more recently housing disrepair claims.
Amanda-Jayne qualified as a Fellow of CILEX (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) in December in 2012.
She joined Chadwick Lawrence to go back into property and take on new challenges.

Ashley has responsibility for sending out the initial paperwork to the client for signature and explaining the basis of the Conditional Fee Agreement once they have had the opportunity of reading the paperwork.

Ellie started her Training Contract with the firm in April 2020 and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2021. From January 2021, Ellie is assisting in the Family Department to broaden her experience in other aspects of legal practice.
Ellie first discovered her keen interest in Private Client law whilst studying at the University of Huddersfield, where she gained a first-class honours degree and was awarded with an accolade for achieving the highest marks in Land Law.
Ellie’s time at the University of Huddersfield was followed by achieving a distinction on the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, where she also achieved a distinction in her master’s degree whilst working at a local law firm full time.

Emily also has a busy practice in private law children work representing parents in proceedings ranging from contact disputes to more difficult and complex cases where allegations of sexual, emotional and physical abuse have been made.
Emily recognises that clients are often at their most vulnerable when seeking her advice following the breakdown of a relationship and is sensitive to their needs but she also has a practical and down to earth approach and believes in providing pragmatic and realistic advice from the outset. Jacqueline has specialised solely in Claimant Medical Negligence claims at Chadwick Lawrence since 2002 after qualifying as a solicitor following her previous training and career as a qualified nurse in Glasgow and London. She finds the additional medical knowledge and previous experience of working in the NHS and private health sectors particularly useful in this specialist field.
Jacqueline has been mentioned as a recommended Claimant Clinical Negligence lawyer in Legal 500 for several consecutive years including 2024. She was described in Legal 500 2018 and 2019 as a ‘highly competent Associate’ and ‘key name to note’ in the ‘terrific clinical negligence practice at Chadwick Lawrence’. Jonathan graduated from Huddersfield University in July 2016 after completing his Master of Law and Practice. After completing these studies, Jonathan dove into Litigation (Civil and Commercial) and worked as a fee earner across; mental health and employment, contracts, and financial recovery. Throughout his 7 years in Litigation, Jonathan handled advocacy and ADR in each, and provided formal training and mentorship to others.
Jonathan qualified as a solicitor through the SQE route, passing exams in August 2023. During these intensive studies, he reignited a passion and desire to become a Commercial Property Solicitor.
Jonathan joined the firm in September 2024 as such, realising his new focus and goal. He works under Partner Jonathan Moore, and manages a fee-earning caseload in addition to providing support where required.

Julia has over 20 years experience in private client work, having qualified as a solicitor in 1997. Julia was previously a partner at Dixon Coles & Gill Solicitors in Wakefield before joining Chadwick Lawrence in 2016.
Julia now specialises in Wills, probate and trust work. She is also skilled in dealing with Lasting Powers of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection. She covers the Wakefield area for the department, being based at the Horbury office, but dividing her time between Horbury and the Paragon Point office in Wakefield.
An important part of Julia’s work is her practice as a Notary Public. Julia has been a qualified Notary since 2007 and she continues to build her notarial practice at Chadwick Lawrence.

Before joining Chadwick Lawrence in 2018, Matt successfully managed a high-profile debt recovery department for a firm of Solicitors. Matt now leads the debt recovery within Chadwick Lawrence, through its specialist department, Acclaim Credit Management & Recovery.
Matt’s strengths lie within County Court and High Court money claims, Enforcement, and Insolvency proceedings. He is ambitious and strives for success and is renowned for keeping calm under pressure.
Outside of his role in law, Matt sits on a Governing committee for a local Primary School where he is the designated SEND Governor for the School, championing the issue of special educational needs and disability within the work of the Governing board as well as overseeing the school’s arrangements and provisions for meeting special educational needs.
Matt also sits on a local College Governing committee dealing with further and higher education complaints handling.
Matt also volunteers at his local Sea Cadet unit as a sergeant in the Royal Marines detachment, where he supports local young people (cadets), teaching various activities from water sport to adventure training and exercises and skills that are undertaken by Royal Marines, helping the cadets flourish into confident and capable young adults.

Oliver’s passion for a career in law began in 2010 after completing work experience as a 15 year old in Chadwick Lawrence’s Wakefield office. Shortly after his 18th birthday, he started as a Legal Apprentice at a national law firm in Leeds. He soon became a fee earner at 20 years old and for the next 8 years he handled a caseload on a range of disputes on behalf of insurer and corporate clients. Alongside fee earning, he completed a 6-year Solicitor Apprenticeship which provided him with excellent academics to become a successful litigator.
Oliver has now come back to Chadwick Lawrence, with a wealth of experience to put to good use, in our Litigation team based in Leeds. He qualified as a solicitor in June 2024.
Out of work, Oliver serves as an Elected Councillor for the Morley South Ward on Leeds City Council and served as the youngest Mayor of Morley during 2022/23.

Susan was part of our private client team from 1994 until she joined our Court of Protection team where she specialises in Court of Protection applications and the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney across all of our offices. Over the 30 years Susan has been a part of the firm she has helped thousands of clients achieve peace of mind that their wishes will be carried out.
As well working with clients, Susan is a dedicated Dementia Friends Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society and is the chairperson of the Chadwick Lawrence Dementia Committee, maintaining our firm’s commitment to raise awareness and support those living with dementia, their families and carers.

Susan Vesely completed an LLB Hons at Leeds University, qualifying in 1980 and has specialised in family law since 1989. She has a thorough knowledge of family law and a wealth of experience dealing with all aspects of divorce, separation, private law, children disputes in relation to residence, contact, prohibited steps orders and specific issue orders.
Susan is a specialist in financial matters for medium to high net worth clients, often with a business and pensions. Although the majority of Susan’s cases are in the family courts across England and Wales, she has advised clients living in jurisdictions in the UAE and US, much of Susan’s work comes through personal recommendation from previous clients and contacts.
Susan is a Specialist of Resolution and an Accredited Specialist on the Law Society Advanced Family Panel.
Susan was qualified as a Mediator in 1999 and also trained to deal with direct consultation with children. She also managed a successful family mediation service and is a past President of a local Law Society.
